Community Action of Eastern Iowa is partnering with the Iowa Department of Human Services, the Iowa Community Action Association, and the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine to provide disaster response services to eastern Iowa residents impacted by the March 6, 2017 tornadoes.  Qualifying households are receiving case management services and individual financial assistance as they work to recover from damage sustained during the storms.  Assistance has included replacement of food lost due to power outages, replacement of furniture and other items, and repairs to roofs and vehicles.

The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine awarded $5,000 to assist with recovery, and has established a fund to receive community donations.

Jan Slaughter, Site Manager, Community Action of Eastern Iowa, accepts a $5,000 emergency response grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine.
