About the Agency
Community Action of Eastern Iowa (CAEI) is a nonprofit agency with the mission of empowering individuals and families to overcome barriers and achieve lasting selfsufficiency. We serve four main counties: Scott, Clinton, Muscatine, and Cedar. We are able to serve over 25,000 people every year, “helping people, changing lives.” We deliver a broad range of services through our key programs, such as Head Start and Early Head Start (HS/EHS), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), crisis/utility assistance, Weatherization, Family Development and SelfSufficiency (FaDSS), Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R), a 24/7 crisis food pantry, and more. These programs, blended with community resources and support, coordinate resources to assist families in moving out of poverty and towards a living wage. Through respectful, community-based partnerships, CAEI helps individuals build skills, strengthen financial security, and create pathways to opportunity.
